Gabriela Maria Rodriguez // Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office

A McAllen woman is facing criminal charges more than a decade after she allegedly sexually abused a boy for a three-year period of time.

A Hidalgo County grand jury indicted 46-year-old Gabriela Maria Rodriguez back in September.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies took her into custody on Thursday afternoon.

Details were not immediately available but Rodriguez is facing two counts of indecency with a child, one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of sexual assault of a child.

A copy of the indictment obtained by Action 4 News reveals that Rodriguez is accused of sexually abusing the boy between July 2000 and August 2003.

Records show that Rodriguez was 32 years old at the time the alleged sexual abuse began.

Under Texas state law, victims of sexual abuse can report the crimes against them until their 28th birthday.
