Woman kidnapped from Pleasanton rescued in Roma

A woman taken against her will from nearly 200 miles away was rescued in Roma, according to the Roma Police Department.

Atascosa County Sheriff TMs Department called the Roma Police Department after finding out the alleged kidnapper was headed south.

The woman called 911 around 5:42 p.m. and Roma police were able to track down the location of the vehicle.

The man then saw the police car and attempted to flee, but he crashed into the Welcome to the City of Roma sign, according to authorities.

The man and woman were both transported to the McAllen Medical Center.
