A Brownsville man is behind bars after he allegedly got into an argument with a woman and deliberately hit her with his car.

Brownsville police arrested 24-year-old Eduardo Polanco on aggravated assault with a motor vehicle and unlawful carrying of a weapon charges early Wednesday morning.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Polanco and a 22-year-old woman were part of two groups arguing inside Rack Daddy's, located off Ruben Torres and Hudson Bend Boulevards.

It's not clear what the argument was about but investigators said it continued outside where Polanco got inside his 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse.

The 22-year-old got in front of the car and Polanco allegedly responded by putting his foot down on the gas pedal and hitting her with his car.

The woman rolled over the car and onto the street.

Officers found Polanco at the scene while paramedics rushed the 22-year-old woman to the Valley Regional Medical Center where she's listed in stable condition.

Investigators found a 40-caliber handgun inside Polanco's car.

The 24-year-old man appeared before Brownsville Municipal Judge Ignacio Torteya on Wednesday morning where he was issued $23,500 dollars in bonds.

Polanco remains in custody at the Cameron County Jail.
