A Brownsville woman was arrested for child endangerment, theft and engaging in organized criminal activity.
Maria Antonia Saldana was arrested after she stole a pickup truck.
She was driving the 2006 Ford F-250 into Mexico, along with a 3-year-old child, but she did not make it past the border.
Saldana allegedly appeared nervous when she was questioned, as she attempted to cross the stolen truck.
The truck had just been stolen from East Los Ebanos Road in Brownsville.
She was arrested and allegedly admitted that she and three other people were involved in the vehicle theft.
Saldana also told agents that the child was with her when they stole the F-250, this resulting in her being charged with child endangerment.
She, along with the 3-year-old, were headed into Matamoros.
Saldana allegedly said that she was crossing the truck because someone told her to take it into Mexico.
Agents say the 3-year-old did not belong to Saldana and was released to the mother.
