A Brownsville woman is behind bars after X-rays allegedly revealed more than 23 pounds of cocaine inside her pickup truck.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers arrested 33-year-old Yessenia Elizabeth Portes on Sunday.
The Brownsville woman drove up from Mexico at the B&M International Bridge in a white Chevrolet Silverado.
Customs officers sent her truck to secondary inspection where X-rays revealed nine packages with 23.36 pounds of cocaine inside her truck.
Portes appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Felix Recio in Brownsville on Tuesday morning.
Judge Recio denied bond for Portes until a Thursday afternoon hearing.
