64-year-old man charged with exposing himself at McAllen bus station
Investigators have arrested a 64-year-old man accused of exposing himself to a boy at the McAllen bus station.
Officers charged Benito Quevedo Briones, 64, of Pharr with indecency with a child, a third-degree felony.
On Sunday night, a boy contacted security about a man behaving inappropriately in the bus station bathroom, according to McAllen Municipal Court records.
The McAllen Police Department dispatched an officer to interview the boy. Investigators identified the boy as “Edward” to protect his identity.
Edward said a man in the bathroom started making noises, which prompted him to look toward the man.
“Edward stated that when he turned around Benito was facing towards him, away from the urinal, and Benito was exposing his erect penis to Edward,” according to the criminal complaint. “Edward also stated that Benito was holding onto his erect penis. Edward added that Benito started stroking his erect penis.”
Briones suggested Edward join in him a bathroom stall, according to the criminal complaint. Instead, Edward left the bathroom and called security.
“I observed Edward to be visibly upset, he was trembling, scared and started crying when explaining what had occurred,” according to the criminal complaint.
Investigators interviewed Briones, who said he didn’t have any interaction with Edward in the bathroom.
Officers charged Briones with indecency with a child, a third-degree felony.
Briones remains at the Hidalgo County jail and couldn’t be reached for comment.
