City responds to #AdiosMcAllen social media campaign
Reynosa residents angry with President Donald J. Trump's plan to build a new border wall have launched a social media campaign against McAllen retailers.
The #AdiosMcAllen campaign attempts to make Reynosa residents think twice about supporting McAllen businesses.
Hoy Tamaulipas reported on the #AdiosMcAllen campaign Saturday.
McAllen Mayor Jim Darling said he wants to strengthen the city's relationship with Reynosa.
"Nothing's changed," Darling said. "Whatever happens, we're still family, friends and business partners. And so we think we need to get together and strengthen that as opposed to weaken it."
