Government wants to deport Mexican man for sixth time
Officers detained a Mexican man at the Hidalgo County jail on Tuesday and want to deport him for the sixth time.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Andres Campos-Salazar at the Hidalgo County jail on Tuesday, according to the criminal complaint against him.
"Record checks revealed the defendant was formally removed from the United States to Mexico for the fifth (5th) time on November 4, 2016 via the Nogales, Arizona Port of Entry," according to the criminal complaint.
"The defendant claims to have illegally re-entered the United States on or about January 5, 2017 by wading the Rio Grande River at or near Roma, Texas," according to the criminal complaint.
Court records don't list an attorney for Campos, who remains in federal custody.
