Man charged with murder after running over teenager at party

Two years ago

A man accused of running a teenager over with his van is behind bars, after being on the run for two years.

A 31-year-old man was attempting to cross into the U.S. from Mexico yesterday, and he was stopped by authorities after they discovered he was wanted for murder.

The alleged murder happened over two years ago after an argument at a party, according to witnesses.

They said Francisco Gonzalez, known as El Indio, was arguing with 16-year-old Jonathan Ramos. According to witnesses Gonzalez jumped into van, then drove it into the Mission teenager.

Witnesses said the impact of the van caused Ramos to be flung into the air and land in a neighbor TMs yard.

Documents said Gonzalez sped from the scene and lost control of the van which flipped over, but landed on its tires.

The van was still working and Gonzalez was able to flee the scene.

Gonzalez was charged with first degree murder today.

His bond was set at $1 Million.
