Two dead, multiple people injured after accident in PEMEX refinery

An investigation is underway after an accident at the Madero Refinery coking plant left two dead and multiple people in the hospital.

PEMEX said the accident happened Friday afternoon after the fuel plant "Francisco I. Madero" Refinery was closed for maintenance.

PEMEX took to their Twitter account announcing the first worker who was killed, and then the second death in the accident: We regret the death of a second worker for the accident that was raised in Ciudad Madero refinery.

One of the people killed has been identified as Renato Castillo Palacios.

The identity of the second person killed has not been released at this time.

An investigation is underway by the Pemex Refining specialized technicians to find the cause of the accident.
