Load of narcotics hidden under 1,000 pounds of fruit and veggies

A multi-agency drug investigation in Hidalgo County is paying off for the Food Bank of the RGV.

Tuesday afternoon Edinburg police confiscated an undetermined amount of narcotics hidden underneath 1,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables.

Edinburg Police confirmed they are in the midst of an ongoing narcotic investigation but stop short of telling Action 4 News key details including the type of drugs seized, how much was siezed or if any arrests were made.

Investigators did say other agencies are involved.

On Wednesday, the police department took the flatbed filled with peppers, pineapples, grapefruit, etc. to the food bank so it would not go to waste.
