A man from Monterrey, Mexico was arrested after he attempted to smuggle over $5 million worth of drugs, according to authorities.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized $5,706,000 worth of cocaine and heroin.
The drugs were seized before making their way across the border through the Anzalduas-Reynosa International bridge.
The arrested 26-year-old Mexican citizen allegedly displayed a border crossing card and was referred to secondary inspection.
Through the use of a non-intrusive imaging system, officers were able to locate the concealed drugs.
Officers were allegedly able to locate 49.69 pounds of heroin and 38.67 pounds of cocaine.
The vehicle used was also seized.
The 26-yearold remains in custody of Homeland Security Investigations agents.
