Television crew injured in road rage incident

A case of suspected road rage lands a local television crew in the hospital.

Mission Police Sgt. Manuel Casas told Action 4 News a man struck a vehicle on the frontage of Expressway 83 near Stuart and then slammed right into Telemundo's news vehicle seconds later.

The Telemundo news vehicle rolled over at least four to five times causing another five or more vehicles to crash.

Sgt. Casas said the television crew would have been ejected, but they were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Police said the suspect is driving a maroon 2003 Envoy.

He was last seen driving on expressway 83 towards Palmview Sgt. Casas told Action 4 News.

The Telemundo team is being treated at a Mission hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made.
