Authorities confirm three gunmen are dead following a drug cartel shootout south of the border in Nuevo Laredo.
It all happened around 4 a.m. Friday in the Colonia Concordia.
The Tamaulipas Attorney General's Office confirms that a shootout took place between two groups of armed men.
Investigators arrived at the scene where they allegedly found three bodies inside a car.
The three men have not been identified but their bodies were sent to a local morgue for an autopsy and identification.
It's not clear which criminal groups were involved in the shootout but the case remains under investigation.
