El Ranchito woman escapes kidnapping by biting suspect

An alleged kidnapper got more than he bargained for when he attempted to abduct and rob a woman in El Ranchito.

Sheriff Omar Lucio said the attempted kidnapping happened at a beauty salon off of FM 1577 and U.S. Highway 281.

It was just before 11 p.m. Saturday when an employee at Gloria's Beauty Salon was leaving for the day.

The woman, approximately in her 50s, walked up to her car and that's when she was attacked by a suspect from behind.

Sheriff Lucio said the suspect attacked the woman from behind but she fought back by biting his finger.

The alleged suspect grabbed the woman from the neck and tried to force her into her own vehicle.

But instead the woman took matters in to her own hands, or rather teeth.

She bit his finger to the point where he had to let her go and to the point perhaps that he almost cut off the finger, Sheriff Lucio.

The bite was so hard that Lucio said the victim also reported she felt her teeth were loose.

She was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

Lucio says the suspect was able to get away.
