Progreso voters want change with newly elected mayor

Voters say they hope the newly elected officials will clean up the city TMs tainted image after the city held their run-off elections.
Arturo Aleman has been unofficially elected as Progreso TMs next mayor.
Aleman is the unofficial winner with 55 percent of the vote.
Roy Martinez came in second with 38 percent of the vote.
The remaining six percent of the vote went to Jesus Martinez, Jr.
Aleman was appointed as Mayor Pro-Tem in April 2014.
Two Alderman Seats were also up for grabs.
Blas Medrano was unofficially elected for Councilman 2 with more than 59 percent of the vote.
Charlie Vasquez had 40 percent of the vote.
Gerardo Jerry Alanis is the unofficial winner for Councilman Place 3 with almost 57 percent of the vote.
Abel Garcia received 43 percent of the city TMs vote.
Former Mayor Omar Vela and his brother, former Alderman Orlando Vela vacated their seats after they plead guilty to federal charge for their roles in the Pay to Play scheme involving the Progreso School District.
