Rio Hondo city manager dismissed amid budget shortfall

Rio Hondo City Manager Arturo Prida is out of a job.

Mayor Alonzo Garza spoke to Action 4 News about the decision to let him go.

Garza said the City of Rio Hondo is more than $30,000 dollars in the red.

The city commission will meet Saturday to discuss what they expect of their next city administrator.

City leaders will then post the position in hopes of finding someone to fill the spot.

Prida served as city manager for Rio Hondo since 2006.
