A popular park for fishermen and boaters has reopened now that the federal government shutdown has ended.

Cameron County Park officials confirmed that Adolph Thomae Park in Arroyo City was reopened Thursday morning.

Although it's a county park, the gates were locked back on October 1st because it sits on federal land.

The park remained closed for more than two weeks during the federal government shutdown.

Thomae Park is a popular spot for both fishermen and boaters.
