      UT-Brownsville Soccer Happy To Be Off The Road

      Soccer, Soccer, Soccer, and more Soccer.The University of Texas at Brownsville Ocelots men and women's soccer squads will be home at the UTB Soccer Field to play a combined of four total Red River Athletic Conference games in two days starting Thursday.The kickoff is set for a double header on Thursday versus the Texas College Steers with matches at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The women's team is scheduled to play first and the men's team will follow.Hawa Na-atta who has four goals on the season leads the women's team for Texas College. On the men's side, Angel Estrada who currently sits with three goals on the season leads the Steers.On Saturday, UTB welcomes Bacone College to Brownsville for another doubleheader with game times of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The women will play first.Mireva Navas who has four goals on the season leads the women's team for Bacone. On the men's side, Diego Zavala leads Bacone with five goals on the season.The No. 15 UTB women's team is led by All-American Isadora Freitas in goals (8), assists (2), and shots at goal (16) this season. Freitas eight goals rank her No. 1 in the RRAC. As a team they are currently 6-2 overall and 1-0 in conference.The No. 11 UTB men's soccer squad is led by Victor Parreiras with 12 goals, 5 assists, and 21 shots at goal on the season. Parreiras 12 goals lead the RRAC and only trail the NAIA leader by four goals. The men's team is currently 8-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.After this week's matchups the Ocelots soccer squads will be in action again on October 10 at Our Lady of the Lake University.
