Quarterback Billy Garza threw a season high of nine touchdown passes and had 350 passing yards to propel the Rio Grande Valley Magic to victory over the Laredo Rattlesnakes 81-41 on Monday night at the State Farm Arena.
With the victory, the Magic improve to 4-2 on the season while Laredo falls to 2-5.
The Magic got on the board in the first possession of the on a 1 yard run from Antwan Cobb out for a quick 6-0 lead. After a Laredo touchdown from Matt Jeffers to Jerome McGee from 10 yards out, the Magic scored the next two touchdowns from Billy Garza.
Laredo would get close in the second quarter on an Oliver Pryor score from a yard out and the score would be 20-14. That is as close as Laredo got on the evening.
The Magic would go on and score a couple of more times and traded touchdowns for a 40-27 halftime.
