Nature park or sports center?
McAllen voters go to the polls in May to decide a $35 million dollar bond to build a tennis center and baseball/softball complex.
Leaders want the tennis and baseball centers to be on land belonging to the city TMs nature center and botanical garden.
Opponents want to keep the land as it is. They want the land to be preserved for its beauty and wildlife.
Those in favor of the development say the project will keep the natural beauty and still be able to add the development.
They want to the sports complex to be a destination for the region.
