Severe weather warnings expire, but threat remains

Severe thunderstorm warnings for portions of Willacy County and Hidalgo County have expired at this time, but the a small threat for severe weather remains.
Cameron County is now being affected by the remains of these thunderstorms, mostly by heavy rain and gusty winds.
Through the afternoon and early evening, the line of thunderstorms moved to the southeast dropped heavy rain, gusty winds, lightning, and small hail in some areas.
Expect roads to be slick through the evening hours. A three-fold effect from several contributing factors that include copious moisture influx from the Gulf, combined with a frontal boundary to the north, and sea breeze, have helped to initiate this round of storms.
More storms, some maybe severe, are still possible through the evening hours.
