In a span of two hours, Action 4 Sports pulled together a jam-packed, comprehensive look at the upcoming 2012 football season in the Rio Grande Valley with the annual Countdown to Kickoff Show.
Sports Director Clay Williams and Joe Bowling set up shop live at Boggus Stadium in Harlingen, on the 50 yard line, and raced through all 51 teams.
Cheerleaders, bands and fans added to the atmosphere which made it seem more like a pregame show than a preview and across the board the response was terrific.
Coaches from some of the teams made live appearances as did a number of sportswriters from the area.
Mixed in were video sets of each team which included interviews with players and coaches alike.
The show is just the beginning of the coverage that Action 4 Sports will bring this season as plans are set for the most in depth coverage ever.
The live set was a hit across the board as comments came in from those that attended and those that watched. There were also numerous replies through message boards, Facebook and Twitter.
Even fans that were not in the area had a chance to tune in as the show was streamed live on valleycentral.com.
With the success of the show, the talk already is how to make it bigger and better next year.
As for now, the season kicks off Thursday night, and at Action 4, it is now a fact that the source for local sports begins and ends right here.
