An 11-year-old boy was killed in a head-on collision north of Edinburg on Wednesday.
The Texas Department of Public Safety tells us the accident happened on Ingle Road, just west of U.S. Highway 281.
DPS said the driver of a silver vehicle drove into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle.
The 11-year-old boy who was in the silver vehicle died. Authorities said that the 11-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt.
Troopers believe that the driver of the silver vehicle was intoxicated but authorities are still investigating.
Two people in the vehicle that was hit were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No charges have been filed yet as authorities are still investigating.
