Attorney: 93rd state district judge arrested by FBI

A Texas Department of Public Safety unit parked outside 93rd State District Judge Rudy Delgado's Edinburg home on Friday.

An attorney representing State District Judge Rodolfo "Rudy" Delgado has confirmed that Delgado was arrested by the FBI on Friday.

The confirmation comes after the FBI conducted law enforcement activity at the Hidalgo County Courthouse and at Delgado's Edinburg home.

Delgado's attorney, Al Alvarez, said the district judge remains in federal custody and will make his initial appearance before the court on Monday.

As CBS 4 News previously reported:

An unidentified person has been arrested after the FBI conducted a law enforcement activity at the 93rd District Court in Edinburg on Friday, according to Special Agent Michelle Lee, a spokeswoman for the FBI and Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra.
The identity of the person in custody and further details about the case will be released Monday, Lee said.
The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed they are assisting the FBI in the case.
