Body found in McAllen identified as missing San Juan man
A body found in McAllen yesterday has been identified as 34-year-old Mario de Jesus Adame Vasquez.
Vasquez, a San Juan resident, had been missing since Jan. 7.
At around 3:30 p.m on Friday, Jan. 18, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about suspicious circumstance at a canal located south of 6 Mile Line and Ware Rd near north McAllen.
When they arrived at the scene, deputies found a red duffel bag containing Vasquez’s body.
Investigators confirmed the identity through fingerprints. Autopsy results are currently pending, however, according to Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra, foul play is suspected.
