Bond set for 2 women accused of assaulting man with shovel

    Bond has been set for two women accused of assaulting a man with a shovel, robbing him and shooting him Friday in Weslaco.

    Kristine Dimas, 23, and Janette Loera, 24, are each charged with one count of attempted capital murder by terroristic threat.

    During the arraignment, the women stated that, “they didn’t do it.”

    Bond for each woman has been set at $250,000.

    According to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place at a home south of Mile 6 North on Milanos Rd in rural Weslaco.

    The man who was assaulted was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
