Original story: Brownsville police issued a welfare concern for a San Benito teen who reportedly left a tour at the Palo Alto Battlefield grounds on Friday.

Police say Gabriel Miranda, 16, of San Benito was on a tour at the historic battlefield with a group from Lyford when he “informed the group leader that he was leaving,” according to a news release from the Brownsville Police Department.

Police say it’s unclear why Miranda left the group and are concerned about his safety, as the surrounding area is “heavy brush that can cold various dangers.”

Miranda was last seen wearing a grey sweat shirt, jeans and white tennis shoes.

Police believe Miranda may attempted to go home.

Anyone with information about Miranda’s whereabouts is asked to call the Brownsville Police Department at 956-548-700.
