City of Brownsville unveils 2019 Charro Days poster
The city of Brownsville has unveiled their 2019 Charro Days poster for their 82nd annual event.
This year's poster includes the image of a mariachi ensemble that was actually inspired by Mariachi 7 Leguas.
To lift the community's spirit during the Great Depression, city leaders brought Charro Days to celebrate Brownsville's authenticity and celebrate the cultural heritage and location along the U.S. - Mexico border.
“Everybody gets excited they get with their costumes. They start with their “gritos” (shouting), with their parties, their dances, it's just a great festivity,” said Maria De Lourdes Lieck, President of Charro Days.
Charro days will be held from February 23 through March 3.
