Delta now flying out of Harlingen

Planning a holiday flight?

While Southwest Airlines is pulling some of their non-stop flights out of Harlingen, Delta Airlines is adding some.

Delta began its seasonal non-stop service between Minneapolis and Valley International Airport in Harlingen this weekend.

The 150 seat aircraft will continue service through April 30th.

A spokesperson said the service is aimed to attract winter Texans who live in Minnesota.

Delta Airlines is hopeful the service could be expanded to Delta's hubs in Salt Lake City and Atlanta.

Southwest will no longer be providing non-stop flights to Dallas and San Antonio from Valley International Airport in Harlingen starting in June.
