Several agencies continue to investigate a shooting in Rio Grande City.

Police say the father of Chayse Olivarez--the teen who went missing in July and whose remains were found weeks later--was shot multiple times late Friday night in a subdivision off of Farm-to-Market Road 755.

Sometime after 12:05 a.m. Saturday, a McAllen hospital informed Rio Grande City police that Olivarez's father drove himself to the hospital after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.

Olivarez's father underwent surgery, according to police. His condition is still unknown.

Authorities say they don't have reason to believe the shooting is in connection to Olivarez's death.

Police describe a suspect vehicle as a white-colored SUV, possibly a Jeep Liberty, that may have sustained broken windows during the shooting.

The Rio Grande City Police Department, Texas Rangers, Starr County Sheriff's Office, and the Starr County District Attorney's Office continue to look into the case.

Four suspects have been arrested in connection to the death of Chayse Olivarez.
