Former La Joya Police Chief back behind bars for making inappropriate comments on Facebook

    Former La Joya Police Chief Geovani Hernandez is back in jail following a federal court appearance.

    According to court documents, Hernandez, who was arrested in august of 2017, appeared in federal court on Wednesday.

    During the court appearance, Judge Randy Crane sent Hernandez to jail for making inappropriate Facebook posts.

    Hernandez will remain in U.S. Marshals custody until Friday.

    The former chief is awaiting trial on federal drug trafficking charges.

    The trial is expected to begin in March.
