Louis Vela // Cameron County Jail

A man is behind bars after he allegedly left his wife bruised since she allegedly lied to him about their daughter TMs homework.

According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Action 4 News, his wife told police she was assaulted by her husband Louis Vela.

The wife ran from her house to a water plant to look for help, and when police arrived they noticed she was crying and had visible bruises on her thighs.

She told authorities she had been hit twice on her head causing a bump, documents say.

The 27-year-old husband was arrested on Friday, November 1 at his home on South Nogal Street in Los Fresnos.

Cameron County Sheriff TMs Department arrested Vela on a charge of continuous violence against the family.

According to authorities, Vela was upset since he has to work on a ranch and his wife was responsible for taking care of their child TMs homework.

He allegedly told authorities that he only pushed her because their daughter TMs homework was not done.

The wife claimed she had also been assaulted days before.

A Cameron County Sheriff TMs deputy took photos of the wife TMs injuries and Vela was transported to the county jail.

His bond is currently set at $15,000 for the continuous violence against the family charge.
