After hearing closing arguments, the jury started deliberating Thursday in the John Feit trial.

The 85-year-old former priest is accused of murdering beauty queen Irene Garza in April 1960.

Jurors heard five days of testimony from witnesses, who alleged that Hidalgo County's top law enforcement officials — including the district attorney and the sheriff at the time — conspired with the Catholic church to avoid charging Feit with murder.
