Large group of protesters attempt to block bus at McAllen processing center on Saturday
A large group of immigrant rights protesters tried to block a bus carrying immigrant children outside a U.S.-Mexico border processing facility in McAllen on Saturday.
Local and state police were called in to help disperse the crowd and let the bus to proceed.
Border Patrol agents did not say where it was headed.
The president signed an order last week to keep families detained together during immigration proceedings, but critics say it still detains entire families and does not spell out how an estimated 2,300 children already taken away will reunite with their parents.
