Man charged in connection with Pharr murder

    One man has been charged after police found a man dead inside a Pharr home on Friday afternoon.

    Gregory Alexander Ortega, 29, is charged with murder, tampering with evidence, unlawful possession of a firearm and engaging in organized criminal activity.

    Police said the man, who has not been identified, was found unresponsive at a home on the 1000 block of Tulip Dr., according to a news release from the Pharr Police Department.

    The release stated that the man had sustained injuries to his body.

    Bond for Ortega has been set at $1.4 million.
