Man sitting in Whataburger booth tipsy racks up drug charges

A man sitting in a booth at a local Whataburger while intoxicated has found himself in jail.

Raul Barrera Jr. was originally arrested on charges of public intoxication after authorities responded to a call about an intoxicated person at the Whataburger on Harrison in Harlingen.

Barrera allegedly displayed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest.

At the police station authorities found .3 grams of crack cocaine, 3.1 grams of powder cocaine, and 93.7 grams of marijuana on Barrera, according to authorities.

Ashley Michelle Mashburn who was at Whataburger with Barrera was also arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

She was given a fine for the misdemeanor charge.

Barrera was issued a $30,000 bond for a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.

He was also charged with possession of marijuana, a class a misdemeanor and given a $6,000 bond for that charge.

Barrera was given a $2,129 fine for outstanding warrants and the public intoxication charge.
