Guadalupe Uribe appeared before a judge this afternoon and was charged with theft, a state jail felony.

On Friday, Alamo Police arrested Uribe after he stole a newspaper delivery truck from in front of the Sgt. Fernando De La Rosa Public Library

According to police, a newspaper delivery man had parked his car outside the library and had left the vehicle running as he went into the building. When the delivery man came out of the library, he saw that the vehicle had been stolen. Both Uribe and the vehicle were later found in San Juan and Uribe was arrested.

Alamo Police Officer, Juan Meza, reminds the public to lock their cars when walking away and to avoid leaving valuables in plain sight.

“We want to make sure they take care and they understand that people are just watching trying to see if they can take advantage of somebody.”
