U.S. Border Patrol officials said the Rio Grande Valley Sector has seen an increase in the amount of hard narcotics busts like cocaine and meth.
Supervisory Border Patrol Agent Marcelino Medina reported two different seizures with a value worth more than $3 million dollars.
According to Medina, agents working the Sarita checkpoint recently found 33 bundles of cocaine concealed inside of a tractor trailer.
The cocaine bundles was valued at nearly $3 million.
Medina also said Falfurrias agents at the checkpoint discovered nearly $200,000 worth of cocaine after conducting a routine stop.
He said these types of busts along the RGV sector are becoming more common.
