Mission Police Department goes pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The Mission Police Department is doing their part for Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the little details.
Officers were seen wearing pink gloves while on duty for the month of October as a way to honor and remember survivors.
The assistant chief of police says it's city-wide.
"For the month of October, the city of Mission always celebrates breast cancer awareness and it is just something's that's grown to where it's celebrated across all the departments," said Assistant Police Chief Jody Tittle. "The police got the gloves, I'm even wearing the pink shirt, we're helping out the Mission hospital with the pink run that they do --every year it just seems to get bigger and bigger."
The city of Mission is preparing for their annual pink run on Saturday, Oct. 20, as well.
