Multi-agency raid in Rio Grande City results in drug possession arrests

Three people were arrested for drug possession charges after multiple agencies executed a search warrant at a home in Rio Grande City.

At about 5:20 a.m. Friday, the Starr County High Intensity Drug Task Force, District Attorney's Office investigators, U.S. Border Patrol Intelligence Group, U.S. Border Patrol Agents and a Border Patrol K9 unit raided a home on the 500 block of Vanessa Street in Rio Grande City.

Authorities arrested Cipriano Torres, Yesenia Garcia-Alvizo and Miriam Garcia-Alvizo for possession of a controlled substance, according to Starr County HIDTA Commander Jesse Diaz.

Authorities seized two vehicles, along with 115 grams of cocaine, 46 grams of marijuana and $3,836 in cash.
