Pharr city officials authorize funds for flood assistance
Pharr city officials have authorized funds for residents affected by recent flooding.
Pharr Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez and the city commission have pledged $40,000 to Affordable Homes of South Texas, Inc., an organization distributing grants of up to $300 for flood victims.
The grants are to be used for quick fixes, such as tarps, wet-vacs, small tools and cleaning supplies until insurance or FEMA help arrives, according to a news release from the city.
To apply for the assistance, residents will need the following:
- A completed application that can be submitted online
- Identification or Driver’s License
- Proof of income.
- Printed photos of damage
- An estimate of damages or materials to be purchased
