    On Wednesday, the common law husband of city of Alamo Executive Secretary Crystal Garza appeared in court.

    Eddie Bernal Ramírez was indicted by a grand jury of Hidalgo County on the charge of tampering with physical evidence with the intent to impair.

    Ramírez pleaded not guilty.

    This comes after Alamo police arrested Garza for engaging in organized criminal activity last year.

    His pre-trial hearing is set for April 15.

    If found guilty, he could be sentenced to 10 years in prison with a fine of $10,000.
