San Juan homicide suspect charged with murder

The primary suspect in a San Juan homicide investigation was charged with murder Saturday afternoon.

Mateo Fabian Garza of Edinburg was charged with murder, a first-degree felony. Bond was set at $2.5 million.

Garza is accused of killing 41-year-old Melinda Ann Garza.

Police found her body at a home on the 700 block of Shufford Street Thursday night after responding to a welfare concern call.

Mateo Garza was arrested at the scene.
