Soldiers arrive in Rio Grande Valley for Operation Faithful Patriot

Soldiers have arrived in the Rio Grande Valley for Operation Faithful Patriot.

In photos released by the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service, soldiers from Fort Riley, Kansas, arrived at Valley International Airport on Thursday.

Earlier today, the Associated Press also reported that the first 100 troops are already doing initial assessments at the port of entry in McAllen, Texas.

Operation Faithful Patriot will provide assistance to the Border Patrol in response to the migrant caravans that are headed to the U.S. – Mexico border.

In a report by the Associated Press, President Trump said that asylum seekers must go to ports of entry in order to make a claim.
