Sullivan City Police searching for a Grinch
Sullivan City Police have received two reports about stolen Christmas decorations and are now looking for a Grinch.
Putting up decorations has become a Christmas tradition for Miguel Sandoval of Sullivan City and his family, but he’s not too happy about a Grinch snooping around the city targeting holiday ornaments.
"I don't think that's good because I think they're stealing the happiness from kids,” said Sandoval.
And the resident knows that getting festive isn’t always cheap.
"They’re expensive, but people can take them and sell them real cheap,” said Sandoval.
Two weeks ago, an individual was caught on camera walking away with a snowman and on Thursday Sullivan City Police received yet another call- someone stole a nine foot decoration.
"Between the hours of 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. they actually took a nine-foot minion from someone's home,” said Police Chief Richard Ozuna of Sullivan City.
The alleged Grinch is still on the loose and it is highly advised that residents secure their decorations. Sandoval suggests closing gates at night, using surveillance cameras and leaving lights on overnight.
It’s also advised that you mark items by either engraving a name, phone number or some type of special marking for better chances of locating the items.
If you see any suspicious activity in your neighborhood, you're asked to contact Sullivan City Police at 956-485-9208.
