Teen dies days after being stabbed at high school graduation party

A recent high school graduate, who was stabbed at a graduation party, died Monday leaving additional charges pending for the perpetrator of the crime.
Christopher Gallegos, 19, was stabbed with a knife in the chest area at a home in San Benito sending him to a hospital on Sunday, June 7.
Gallegos did not survive the stabbing despite treatment, said Cameron County Deputy Chief Gus Reyna.
The San Benito High School graduate and his brother Sergio Gallegos, 20, were attending the party located near McCullough and Pennsylvania streets, Action 4 News previously reported.
Sergio Gallegos was struck with a bottle and was also transported to a hospital. He was later released.
Deputies with the Cameron County Sheriff's Office arrested Marco Alaniz, 18, and Blas Villasana, 18, Monday, June 8.
Alaniz and Villasana were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, according to information released by the Sheriff's Office.
Charges are expected to be upgraded to murder, according to Reyna.
Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio will hold a news conference Tuesday afternoon about the stabbing.
