The Texas Rangers asked for the public’s help Thursday in identifying and locating a person of interest in the murder investigation of a South Padre Island man.

DPS released images of a person of interest seen driving the vehicle of 71-year-old William “Bill” Costello, whose remains were found in Willacy County in August. Costello was initially reported missing on South Padre Island on Aug. 1.

An autopsy revealed Costello was shot in the head.

Juan Carlos Baez Escobedo, 27, of Brownsville has been charged with Costello’s murder, as CBS 4 News previously reported.

Anyone with information about the identity of the person of interest or Costello’s vehicle is asked to call the Texas Department of Public Safety at 956-565-7651 or 956-565-7600.
