Police arrested two McAllen men accused of shining a laser at an Air and Marine Operations helicopter last Thursday.
While Air and Marine agents were searching for subjects in the Mission area, the pilot noticed a laser being pointed at the aircraft from the ground, according to the criminal complaint. The laser illuminated the entire cockpit, temporarily impairing the pilot's vision, according to the criminal complaint.
The pilot was able to locate where the laser was coming from and direct authorities on the ground to a home in McAllen.
Upon arrival, police made contact with 24-year-old Francisco Caceres and 27-year-old Aaron Caceres who confessed to pointing the laser at the aircraft.
Police arrested the brothers and charged them with illumination of aircraft by intense light, a Class A misdemeanor. A judge set their bonds at $1,500 each.
Attempts to contact Francisco Caceres and Aaron Caceres were unsuccessful.
