A murder suspect faced a judge almost two years after he allegedly gunned a man down in a dispute over stolen tires.
Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies booked Ociel Castaeda into the Hidalgo County Jail on a murder charge late Friday night.
The 23-year-old man is accused of killing Cristian Gerardo Landa off Alvarez Street just north of Weslaco back in September 2012.
Court records show that Landa allegedly stole tires from Castaeda.
Investigators reported that Castaeda went looking for Landa and guned him down with an AK-47.
Castaeda reportedly fled to Mexico but investigators said he was recently arrested in the Dallas area.
The 23-year-old murder suspect was arraigned before Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Homer Jasso on Monday afternoon.
Judge Jasso issued a $750,000 dollar bond for Castaeda.
